Valenciennes assistant coach Orlando Silvestri filed a complaint against that he claims to have suffered from a steward at Groupama Stadium after the Coupe de France semi-final against Lyon, the northern club announced.

In the wake of Lyon's victory (3-0), supporters invaded the pitch and "Orlando Silvestri was the victim of an attack", wrote the VAFC in a press release.

"As he spoke to his wife and daughter, present in the stands, the club's assistant coach was tackled to the ground and hit for no reason by a security guard at Groupama Stadium", the club continued.

Orlando Silvestri filed "a complaint against X for assault and battery", the Valenciennes club told AFP, mentioning "a punch in the face and kicks in the back".

"The VAFC strongly condemns these unacceptable facts and supports its employee in this matter, concluded the northern club in its press release. The club would also like to thank the Lyon leaders for their support and collaboration in the investigation which is beginning."

The Lyon club confirmed that it had investigated this incident and indicated that the identified steward no longer had access to the stadium.

"As soon as we learned what had happened, (the general manager and owner of the club) Laurent Prud'homme and John Textor went to see him (Sivestri) and we asked to view the video surveillance images of the stadium, told AFP l' Olympique Lyonnais.

"The steward in question has been summoned. And as OL is not his employer, we informed them, a service company, that we no longer wanted to see this person at the stadium until the end of the season. the investigation", added the Rhone club.
