Fountains put in water and the town center of Bagnols-sur-Cèze is already in spring summer mode

Trois des quatre fontaines de la ville de Bagnols-sur-Cèze, place Jean-Jaurès, place Mallet et place du Posterlon sont déjà en activité. La quatrième, celle du Baron Leroy le sera bientôt.

It is the ritual heralding the arrival of spring. At the town hall of Bagnols-sur-Cèze the return of good weather is synonymous with the closed circuit watering of the city's fountains. There are four of them, three of which are already operational. Their recycling mechanism saves resources.

Attractiveness of the city center

The opening of the fountains constitutes a source of attractiveness for the city center. One of the water points is located on Place Jean-Jaurès. "It’is a fountain that we created when’we moved the War Memorial", explains the first deputy mayor of Bagnols-sur-Cèze delegated to the living environment Maxime Couston.

Light effects

The fountain on Place Jean-Jaurès is decorated with plays of lights and jets adjustable to different heights. "They are also regulated by an anemometer device allowing the speed or pressure of the wind" specifies Maxime Couston. "Kids can move between the water jets".

Decors of Provence

The Jean-Jaurès fountain was built on the same principle as that of Place Mallet. "It requires regular maintenance" indicates the first deputy. The third fountain, that of the Posterlon, brings a Provençal touch in a setting that lends itself to it with plane trees, boules games and of course the bistro. And then there is the large basin of the Baron Leroy fountain which sits in the heart of Place Bertin Boissin. "It’is the most important. Its impoundment should not take long. It also serves as a roundabout, declares the elected official from Bagnolais. "Bagnols has no problem with water supply, continues Maxime Couston. It was a city of gardens where the famous bean was cultivated." In addition to the fountains, the water resource heritage also includes around ten wells.
