French cross-country championship: Béziers CAM athletes are doing well

En lice près d’Albi, lors du championnat de France de cross-country, les athlètes biterrois n’ont pas démérité à l’image du senior Mathieu Besalduch, 4e la course open.

The BCAM was at the French cross-country championship which took place at Cap Découverte, near Albi. Although it was difficult, the course was perfect for cross-country enthusiasts: from mud, bumps, a climb of 160 m at 15%!

The Béziers club was represented by Victor Konychev, who finished 263rd in the junior category. Among the seniors, Mathieu Besaduch, who is preparing for the French trail championships, finished 4th overall in the open race.
In the masters (5 460 m to go), Christophe Gardes completed the distance in 22’41 (21st of the 55/60 year olds), Sophie Limier in 28’11 (7th of the 55 /60 years). Bruno Besalduch (55/60 years old) finished the event in 29’45.

Heading for the French 10km road championship

Victor Konychev and Christophe Gardes will now focus on 10km on the road. They are already qualified for the French km specialty championship which will take place in Roanne on April 14.
They will participate in the event with Patrick Roussel who will seek the podium in the masters.
Junior Simon Duschene, making full progress (34’31 on his last 10 km and 1st junior at the Pyramides race in La Grande-Motte), will also be on deck.

In terms of membership, the BCAM has just welcomed its 300th member, the club seeing many trail runners arrive.
