Gabriel Attal should make “strong announcements”: what is the General Policy Declaration scheduled for this Tuesday ?

This Tuesday, January 30, Gabriel Attal will present his general policy declaration to the National Assembly. We'll explain what it's about. 

The event, largely overshadowed by the anger of farmers, is expected this Tuesday. Gabriel Attal's general policy declaration is scheduled for early this afternoon at the National Assembly. The Prime Minister will present it to the upper house the next day, specifies Public Senate. 

As the official government website points out, this is a republican tradition and not a constitutional obligation.

During his speech, the Prime Minister will outline "the main directions of his government program, the main reforms and measures that he wants to implement in place".

"strong announcements" ?

Three weeks after his appointment to Matignon, Gabriel Attal should speak for a maximum of one hour, indicates Le Parisien. A speech during which the new Prime Minister intends to stand out, impose his style and make announcements. 

According to our colleagues, he could mention tax cuts, "strong" in favor of the middle classes and for education. 

No vote of confidence

Like Elisabeth Borne before him, Gabriel Attal, on the other hand, chose not to submit to a vote of confidence and to take responsibility for the deputies. 

Several reasons pushed Gabriel Attal to make this choice: the relative majority in the Assembly of the presidential camp but also the declarations of Eric Ciotti, who indicated that the LR deputies would not vote in favor of the vote of confidence.
