"Re chicchinelle" in the domain of O

Going out in Montpellier: performance, theater, guided tour… ideas for this Wednesday, June 19

The performance “Re chicchinella pdc

Theater. Taken, like the baroque and hilarious Scortecata seen in Printemps in 2018, from the tales of Giambattista Basile, Re Chicchinella owes a lot to the joyful din of the Neapolitan dialect. But even more to the jubilation of Emma Dante in giving life, flesh and images to this earthiness of a tale for grown-ups.

La Scortecata featured two old women played by two men. Here it is the entire farmyard of the King of Naples which parades in dazzling performances that are both poetic and grotesque, scatological and refined. Fruitful paradoxes of this great lady of the Italian scene who plays with Rossinian elegances as well as Neapolitan antics. With, in the end, this question: A golden egg against a kingdom?

Reserve your seats here. From 15 years old

From 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Domaine d’O – Jean-Claude Carrière Theater, 178 Rue de la Carrière, Montpellier. Full price 40 €, reduced rate 35 €.
