Gossip, The Kills, Soulwax, The Vaccines... the poster for the 3rd Palmarosa festival is finally complete, and it's crazy!

Après onze ans de silence, le génial groupe disco-punk Gossip, emmené par Beth Ditto, est de retour… le 24 août à Palmarosa ! Cody Critcheloe

The 3rd edition of the great Montpellier rock festival, scheduled for three days from August 23 to 25 at the Grammont estate, has finally revealed the rest of its program. To the already announced heavyweights Phoenix, The Hives and Tom Odell, are added the fantastic groups Gossip, The Kills, The Vaccines, Soulwax, The Inspector Cluzo… among others!

Normally, since the first burst of names revealed in mid-January, we all have our pass for the 3rd Palmarosa Festival, back in full swing from August 23 to 25: over three evenings, with the same gauge but on a doubled surface area and in an organization reworked from top to bottom (with great pleasure, that is)!

Normally, the Versailles pop group Phœnix, the Swedish punk gang The Hives and the British singer Tom Odell were indeed enough to trigger the booking impulse (and the prior holiday break … Check it all the same!). All the more so since said introductory salvo also included the names of the excellent Kid Francescoli, Silly Boy Blue, Kazy Lambist, Howlin ‘ Jaws and Bandit Bandit! Normally, therefore, since then, we only bet peacefully on the rest of the poster which, inevitably, will be of the same barrel, of the same thunder… In reality, a speculative tranquility of facade.

Even, if the far-sighted (and reserved) rock lover likes to show off in style, in petto, for a month, it's been sweating, trembling, palpitation: it's not a question of the Palmarosa Festival being carroted by the best bidders, by the best performers, the beautiful names that circulate in its calendar surroundings. Phew! The eight new names revealed this Valentine's Day (love is beautiful, no ?) are metal that rappers make their grillz!

To start with emerging talents, or rather emerging from growing success, are added to the program Calypso Valois, an elegant electro-pop singer born under the sign of class french post-punkabsolute (she's the daughter of the daughter of Elli Medeiros and Jacno!), the Parisian group Please under very strong influences of the best soft-rock seventies and the incredible Crystal Murray, a young Parisian singer who demonizes the dance floor with her cybernetic soul!

The other five names would justify each of us re-booking for the three days (but we definitely agree, we all already have our pass, n' isn't that ?).

Thus, the Gascon duo The Inspector Cluzo represents a unique and applauded case even in Japan, of rockfarmers, who sends the roots rock pâté half the time , and makes the other half (although in the Landes, “pâté” is pronounced “foie gras”; it sounds better to the ear, and to the palace!).

What can we say about Gossip ? But yes, it's the electric, ecstatic, chrome vehicle for the talents of Beth Ditto, phenomenal soul singer and genius icon of positive and enjoyable inclusiveness. On hiatus for too long (eleven years, bazaar!), the disco-punk group is back and the first pieces it released are little bombs of pleasure, starting with the irresistible Crazy Again !

Another returning group, The Kills, aka guitarist Jamie Hince and singer Alison Mosshart, embodies a high idea of rock'n'roll, sexy and groovy, sulphurous and toxic. The duo released an excellent album last year, Good Games, which demonstrates both their loyalty to their minimalist ethic and their desire to explore other territories, more peaceful here, more sensitive there, always magnificent.

When it comes to reinvention, The Vaccines lands there. Discovered at the beginning of the 2010s, the London gang presented itself as the new marvel of leather rock, a little garage, a little post-punk, a lot crazy, on the heels of The Strokes and The Drums. Over the years, its line-up has undergone quite a few changes, and so has its music. Latest news (good: listen to the album Pick-up full of pink carnations), the Vaccines send out the kind of lyrical, classy and unifying pop of which Coldplay has somewhat lost the secret.

Finally, Soulwax is nothing less than one of the most important electro-rock groups in continental Europe. Led by brothers David and Stephen Dewaele (also revered under the Alais 2 Many DJ's), the Belgian group founded in Ghent in 1995 produces mutant music, a hybrid of & nbsp;krautrock, post-punk, synthpop and techno, which on stage can prove beyond reality: supernatural!

The complete program

Friday August 23: Phoenix, The Hives, Silly Boy Blue, The Inspector Cluzo.< /p>

Saturday August 24: Gossip, The Vaccines, Kid Francescoli, Kazy Lambist, Bandit Bandit, Calypso Valois.

Sunday August 25: Tom Odell, The Kills, Soulwax, Howlin’ Jaws, Please, Crystal Murray.

And that's not all!… Well, yes, when it comes to programming (let's not be too greedy). But the organizing team also announces "broadening the horizons" with more shaded spaces, more of drinking water points, and the installation of a total of five bars managed this year by the Limo Agency. Furthermore, the "Palmarosa social club" has taken shape which allows festival-goers to contribute to the event for those who resemble them. "For two months, meetings have multiplied and good ideas and practices abound: PMR accessibility, development of the associative fabric, creation of local partnerships, safe zone. You have no idea what is going on!", enthuse the organizers.

Don't throw any more away, we all have our pass, we said! There is only one thing left to do: wait. But August 23 is soon… How ? In one hundred and ninety-one days, if we count from this Valentine's Day.& nbsp;Come on, when we love, we are capable of anything, even waiting!
