The graffiti festival continues to develop in Millau and opens up to urban sports.

At the beginning of the summer, the Millavois had become accustomed to the fact that graffiti was used. invites itself to the town hall gardens for the Graffiti garden party. You will have to travel for this new edition which will take place from July 5 to 7, still in Millau, but on the Sully-Chaliès quays. "The public had struggling to get behind the town hall, recognizes Raphaël Cros, at the head of the event. And at the organizational level , there was no room for board sports."

Indeed, this new edition will include skateboarding and other urban sports among the graffiti artists. A ramp will be installed by the associations Ridi’n Mio and ZooRaiders. The first is based in Millau, headed by Cyrille Gay, also the creator of the Fabrique à Skatepark, the second in Montlaur. "It allows us to develop a little", explains the organizer.

"A big name" as sponsor

For the artistic part, the festival continues its development. This year, his godfather will be Nasty. "He's a big name in the graffiti world, he'll be there from Friday night", notes the organizer. The festival begins with an evening debate around an exhibition where Nasty will be present to exchange. It will take place at Ping Pong le toit.

12 artists for a fresco

For the rest, 12 artists will be present to create a fresco that will remain displayed on the quays for a good part of the summer. During this time, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., graffiti discovery workshops will be set up. Saturday evening, a concert will be organized. Swift Guad will perform on the Ping-Pong le toit stage (online booking, 100 places available). "Here too, he's a fairly well-known name on the French hip-hop scene, adds the organizer. He comes from the Paris region and this will be the only part of the weekend that will be paid for."

An international festival

Among the artists present for the creation of the fresco, two were selected in a competition launched on social networks social. "We are quite happy because we had quite a few applications, about thirty, and some nice names from the field played the game. We selected a person specialized in literature, M3tice, and another in characters, Apogerz." Otherwise their colleagues come from all over France and not only. A Spaniard, a Canadian and a Belgian are also expected in Millau to express their art.
