The father of Almog Meir Jan, hostage in Gaza for eight months and released this Saturday June 8, 2024, died a few hours before being able to learn of his son's return.

"My brother died of grief and could not see his son return", told Dina Jan, the sister of the father of the ex-hostage, this Sunday June 9, 2024 on Israeli public radio Kan.

"The evening before returning from Almog, my brother had a heart attack", -she declared, explaining that she discovered her unconscious brother at home when she went to tell him the good news.
