He dies crushed by a tree: the 77-year-old retiree was in the process of felling it when the trunk fell on him

The man with his chainsaw did not move to the right side when the tree fell, this Saturday February 17 in Nozay, near Châteaubriant.

A terrible gardening accident. This Saturday, February 17 in Nozay, near Châteaubriant in Loire-Atlantique, a retiree helped by his two friends decided to cut down a tree, as reported by France Bleu. 

The 77-year-old man had taken precautions. Equipped with a chainsaw and ropes, they had cut the wood and held the trunk with the ropes.

The weight of the wood was fatal

But when the tree fell, the retiree didn't go the right way. The trunk fell on him and crushed him. Under the weight of the wood he found himself stuck.

In cardiorespiratory arrest when the firefighters arrived, the victim could not be revived. 

An investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy was opened and was entrusted to the Nozay brigade community.
