Ce samedi 24 août 2024, un homme de 49 ans a été blessé après un accident de kitesurf à Saint-Pierre-Quiberon dans le Morbihan.

The accident occurred late Saturday afternoon. A kitesurfer (a surfboard pulled by a kite) who was near Saint-Pierre-Quiberon flew into the air before falling back near a road. The man was taken to hospital in Vannes, reports Ouest France.

Flying away

While he was surfing, a gust of wind took him into the air and threw the victim against a safety barrier on the side of a road near the Isthmus of Penthièvre, notes the local daily.

But at the same time, a car passes. The kitesurfer's sail gets caught in the vehicle, which drags the 49-year-old man for several meters. The emergency services arrived shortly after 6 p.m. and dispatched a Dragon 56 civil security helicopter and eight firefighters to the scene.

The injured victim was taken to Vannes hospital.
