Heart transplanted in 2020 in Arnaud-de-Villeneuve, Vincent Ferraris is organizing a rock evening this Saturday, April 27 in Saint-Jean-de-Védas, where he will play with his group Telemac. The profits will be donated to a cardiology association.
Vincent Ferraris has been immersed in music since he was little. With a smile on his lips, he remembers:"I spent my vacation in my grandfather’s music store, where I was seduced by the electric guitars". As an adult, he played in rock groups in Montpellier, including Vox Pompidou: “We performed in the legendary Bus Palladium venue in Paris, then we opened three Johnny concerts".
"We move into another dimension"
But he is diagnosed with a heart defect: he is forced to slow down. At the beginning of 2020, as the world went into lockdown, the guitarist was admitted to intensive care. His condition is critical: the graft is the "last card to play". In his misfortune, he is lucky: after only four months of waiting, he is found a donor.
The date is engraved in his mind : "December 16, 2020, at 9 o'clock", we ;rsquo;calls to tell him that a transplant is waiting for him. "It’s dizzying: when you learn that, you switch to another dimension". The rocker reassures his wife and children: "I'm going cheerfully, it's the best posture to have". Irony of fate: a nurse friend, Pat, is in the operating room. "He makes me listen to 'Stairway to Heaven' by Led Zeppelin, so that I fall asleep to music".
"Fragile as a butterfly"
After numerous medical adventures, the father wakes up "with someone else’s heart". Even today, he has trouble finding the words: "energy inhabits the patient, we almost touch on the irrational.

A few months after his operation, he is already starting to run. But the anti-rejection treatment weakens his immune system: Vincent is fragile. like a butterfly. He can still resume his position as manager of a house for all in Montpellier and rehearsals with his group. Today, he is preparing the first album of his group Telemac: "Four concerts are already planned, including one at the Domaine d’O" ;.
Music as medicine
Vincent would like to pay tribute to the healthcare team "for their remarkable work".& ;nbsp; He decides to organize a charity evening: "For me, it’s the best way to say thank you". He also hopes "to give hope to all those who are currently in the cardiology building fighting for their lives" ;.
