He stabs his ex-wife and kidnaps his three children: he loses control of his vehicle and kills the youngest, one year old

In the United States, a 36-year-old man stabbed his ex-wife and his 12-year-old stepdaughter, before kidnapping his three other children, aged 1, 5 and 7, whom he did not have custody of. In the middle of a chase, he killed his youngest daughter in a car accident.

A Kidnapped Sibling

When police arrived at the scene, they found a mother and her daughter with multiple stab wounds. They said they had been attacked by the mother's ex-husband and the girl's stepfather, ABC News reported . They were taken to hospital in stable condition.

Police say that after the two women were stabbed, he fled with his three children, Zayin Plummer, 7, Zayir Plummer, 5, and Za’riyah Plummer, 1. The Amber Alert – the American Kidnapping Alert – was therefore triggered.

Fatal refusal to comply

Dana Plummer, the father of the three children and the main suspect, was located and a traffic stop was set up. But he did not stop and fled. The driver then lost control of his car and crashed on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

The father and his two older sons were injured, but the youngest, who was 1 year old, died in hospital from her injuries. Dana Plummer has been charged with nine counts, including parental kidnapping and domestic violence.

“Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones who are grieving this morning,”, said Virginia State Police Chief Paul Neudigate, “I extend our deepest sympathies to those who have been affected by this loss,”.
