His name was Juan Vicente Pérez Mora and he was 114 years old. This Venezuelan, who was the oldest man in the world, died this Tuesday, announced AFP, according to information from the authorities and his relatives. He was born on May 27, 1909 and was the world's oldest since 2022 after Guinness World Records awarded him this record.

After being informed of the death of the centenarian, the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros reacted on his X account (ex-Twitter). "Juan Vicente Pérez Mora transcended eternity at 114 years old, originally from the town of El Cobre which gave Venezuela the Guinness record of being the ;rsquo;oldest man in the world. I send my condolences to his family and to all the inhabitants of El Cobre, state of Táchira. May God receive him in his holy glory!", he wrote.

It was in 2022, February 4 to be precise, then aged 112 years and 253 days that Juan Vicente Pérez Mora obtained this longevity record which gave him the famous book.

The one who had worked from the age of 5 with his father and his brothers in agriculture was the father of 11 children, had in 2022 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren -children and 12 great-great-grandchildren, relates Ouest France.
