He was watching TV: a black bear breaks into a cabin and attacks a disabled teenager

While relaxing in front of the television, a 15-year-old boy was injured by a black bear that burst into his cabin.

"Never in our wildest dreams would we have thought that a bear would come to the house “, testified the teenager’s mother.

The teenager suffers from a neurological disorder preventing him from moving

On Blue River Road in Alpine in the United States, a 15-year-old boy came close to death this Thursday, May 23. The teenager was relaxing in front of YouTube videos in his cabin after his day of fishing when a black bear burst through the open front door, reports the Guardian.

The bear entered for the first time before coming out and then attacked the young boy sitting on the armchair. Suffering from a neurological disorder preventing him from moving quickly, the young boy then began to scream.

Her screams alerted her brother and parents who were in the neighboring cabin. Everyone then rushed towards the teenager and distracted the bear so that he could escape.

"It could have been much worse"

"It was thanks to the quick reaction of his brother" that the young boy was able to escape ;extract from its claws, their mother told American media.

Wounded to the face and arm, the teenager was transported to a local hospital and received a rabies vaccine as a precaution. Alerted, wildlife agents (Arizona Game and Fish Department) quickly located the black bear before shooting it.

"It really could have been much worse", testified the mother of the’ teenager at NBC News.

"Few children can say that they fought with a bear and came out victorious“, said the mother in a Facebook post showing images of the cuts on her son's nose and arm.
