Histologe, the new free and quick tool to fight against poor housing in Gard

A worrying situation

During a press conference held this Wednesday, April 24 in the premises of the prefecture, Jérôme Bonet, prefect of Gard, underlined the importance of making this tool known still not widespread. Accompanied by representatives of Caf and Adil, the former central director of the judicial police highlighted the urgency of acting in the face of the omnipresent precariousness in the department . Histologe, a new tool to fight against substandard housing

In 2023, no less than 500 reports of substandard housing have been recorded, demonstrating the scale of the problem. "Since December, 60 Gardois have already used this new tool", welcomes Matthieu Perrot, director of the Caf du Gard, hoping that the number of requests will increase in the coming months.

Yves Maurel, deputy director of the Departmental Housing Information Agency (Adil) of Gard, underlined the speed and effectiveness of this additional tool. "Histologe is not there to replace what already exists. It’is a complementary tool which aims to be as close as possible to the occupants& quot;, he warns. If the registration of the online report is immediate, the commission for decent housing (CPLD), led by the Caf and in charge of ;rsquo;examine the files, meets monthly. "Intervention times vary from 48 hours for the most urgent situations to a maximum of two months for traditional procedures.", he specifies.
