Huge setback for MHB: Stas Skube out for several months after knee injury before season even begins

Le MHB a annoncé ce lundi 2 septembre la blessure pour plusieurs mois de son demi-centre slovène Stas Skube avant même le début de la saison prévu ce mardi à Nancy en Coupe de France.

Just like last year, the MHB will have to do without one of its key players from the start of the season. While Yanis Lenne was seriously injured for many months in the adductor during a preparation tournament in the summer of 2023, Erick Mathé will also have to do without a major player, even before his team's first official match.

Center half Stas Skube has indeed injured his knee and will be unavailable for many weeks with Montpellier Handball. A real blow for the new Hérault coach who said he was “delighted to have him” there are still a few days.

Villeminot fit for the position

To compensate for this injury, there is no doubt that Kyllian Villeminot will have a lot of playing time, he who injured his Achilles tendon at the end of 2023 and who seemed physically fit during Montpellier's friendlies.

No one knows yet if a joker will be recruited to deal with this major injury. Last season, when the same Skube was affected in the knee for several weeks, or when Ahmed Hesham was injured in the cruciate ligament, no medical joker had been recruited by the club.
