“I will have to sell everything to pay”: a motorist receives 55,000 euros in fines at his old address

Un quadragénaire a reçu 317 amendes pour un montant total de 55 000 euros à son ancienne adresse. Le Britannique ne sait pas comment il va récolter cette somme d’argent.

Very bad news for this Briton. Dale D’Agostino, 42, has just discovered that he has been fined 317 fines for a total amount of 47,000 pounds, the equivalent of 55’ nbsp;000 euros, sent to his old address, reports the Daily Mail.

His fault? Driving his 12-year-old Volkswagen Caravelle van in the Bradford Low Emission Zone, West Yorkshire, England.

"I don’have this money"

The motorist never received the initial fines, sent to his old address. Unfortunately for him, the penalty notices increased the bill.

Faced with this colossal amount that he must now pay, Dale D’Agostino finds himself helpless: "I don't know “not really how I'm going to raise this amount of money”, he explained to the British newspaper. "I don't have that money so I'm going to have to sell everything to pay for it", he explained.

He appeals but is refused

The driver appealed these fines but the administration refused his request.

The Bradford Low Emission Zone in England came into being in September 2022. Non-compliant vehicles must pay a fine. Dale D’Agostino never declared his old Caravelle pickup truck as his private vehicle. A failure that costs him terribly dear today.
