Après Zazie et Christophe Willem en 2023, c'est le trompettiste Ibrahim Maalouf qui se produira sur la scène du théâtre de la Mer de Sète le 11 juillet 2024.

He is the only instrumentalist to have received a music victory. After a visit to Sète in 2013, Ibrahim Maalouf will be back on the stage of Île Singulière this summer. The trumpeter responded favorably to the invitation from the Sète association Astrid MRCPI to give, on July 11 on the stage of the Théâtre de la Mer, a charity concert whose profits will go directly to the association founded and chaired by Xavier Giner.

Finance the association's actions

"After the enormous success of the Zazie and Christophe Willem concerts last summer, we are delighted to be able to count on Ibrahim Maalouf in 2024. This will be the first instrumental artist that we have been inviting since the start of the operation, in 2009. But we are convinced that his performance, and that of the ten musicians who accompany him, will seduce the Sète public! quot;

The ticket office for this annual charity event "decisive for the association" should open within ten days. "The concert represents around 50% of the money collected by the association. Our actions for the year are based on ticket sales, and the financial support of our private patrons, explains Xavier Ginest.

Astrid will not have the chance to listen to Michel Fuguain, invited the following year. Since then, with the Astrid MRCPI association (for Rare Cardiopulmonary Diseases of Children), Xavier Ginest has been fighting to raise awareness of these respiratory pathologies. But above all to support young patients hospitalized at the Arnaud de Villeneuve University Hospital in Montpellier, and their loved ones.

A few weeks ago, the members of the association arrived in the pediatric cardio department with their arms loaded with gifts. A few days later, they provided a festive meal for hospital staff mobilized for the holidays. "Our role is to bring a little sunshine into the grayness of hospitalization. We will never make these moments pleasant, but we can ensure that they pass as peacefully as possible. I remember the CHU that I experienced in 2010 with Astrid. Today there are frescoes, aquariums in the common areas, toys… I tell myself that up there, my daughter must be happy…"
