In Béziers, Axylis is reinventing the profession of accountant

For almost twenty years, the Béziers accounting firm Axylis has continued to transform itself. Present today in fifteen cities in the south of France, it continues its development with an entry into the capital of the digital agency Cibleweb.

Axylis is an accounting firm like no other. Since the acquisition in 2007 of an independent firm in Béziers, the company has transformed over the years. From a local structure to a network of twenty agencies spread across the south of France, with nearly one hundred and eighty employees. The key to this rise ? A series of acquisitions and strategic diversification aimed at meeting a clear ambition : "Supporting the leaders 360° in their activity, explains Marc Aufort, one of the nine partners of Axylis. And to support them effectively, it was essential to go beyond our accounting and auditing activities, with a range of services adapted to their concrete needs."

Diversify to better support

In parallel with the acquisition of independent firms, Axylis began its diversification strategy in 2011. Concretely, this translates into the establishment of collaborations with business partners and ;introduction of new specific services: legal, social and tax advice, search for subsidies and financing, HR support, to name just these examples. At the same time, the merger with a Toulouse group in 2017 – which will give birth to the Axylis network – marks a real turning point in the history of the firm: "By pooling our resources, we were able to recruit ultra-specialized profiles in order to always advise better our customers." Concrete illustration of this rapprochement : the creation of the Axylis Avocats branch, one of the five multi-professional practice companies – with professionals registered with both the bar and the order of chartered accountants – in Occitania.

The digital shift

If Axylis had already initiated the digital shift with the creation of a center dedicated to securing corporate IT data, the firm is now going even further by taking a stake in the capital of the Biterroise company Cibleweb, specialized in digital strategy and web marketing. "Our position as a chartered accountant places us at the heart of our clients' lives and economic strategy. Among the growth levers that we identify alongside them, the question of digital has become fundamental, specifies Marc Aufort. At through this investment, we are now able to provide a relevant recommendation to our clients on this subject."

Towards a profound change in the profession

"Tomorrow, with the advent of dematerialization and the rise of Artificial Intelligence, the notions of advice and prospective support will become the core business of all accountants."
A profound change in the role of accountant, therefore, which Axylis has already fully initiated and intends to continue. Among the current projects: training its teams in the challenges of Artificial Intelligence as well as those of social and environmental responsibility. The objective: anticipate future developments in order to support business leaders ever further in their success.
