The July 14 festivities are officially open in Montpellier. The kick-off was given by the traditional taking of arms this Saturday early evening at Peyrou. Very ceremonial, this ceremony placed under the authority of Commander Hayez brought together the troops on the royal square from 6:30 p.m. The Hérault Red Cross, the National Navy reserve, the interdepartmental directorate of the national police, the regional Customs directorate, the Hérault departmental fire and rescue service, the municipal police and the municipal transport police participated in the presentation of the troops reviewed by Commander Eric Florès.

After the review of the system, the official decorations were awarded to five people. Then it's the turn of the 2023 and 2024 promotions of the Hérault firefighters to announce their baptismal name: "Adjudant Julien Klépandy" for the first and "Pic Saint-Loup" for the second. The valedictorians read the firefighters' oath before the official presentation of their helmets.
