Since Thursday January 18, Millau and its surroundings have been without a mobile network. The outage end date has been extended.

It has already been five days since the inhabitants of Millau and surrounding towns, subscribers to Bouygues Telecom or SFR, have been deprived of a mobile network. No calls, no text messages, no external internet connection. Nothingness for this small object, which has become a real working tool for a majority.

A breakdown that drags on forever

On Sunday, late in the afternoon, subscribers learned by SMS or email that the outage could be extended until January 29, i.e. 11 days of outage in total. A deadline confirmed this Monday morning by Bouygues Telecom customer service which affirms that this is only a deadline.

Contacted last Friday, the operator assured that the outage would only last until Sunday January 21, i.e. four days of outage in total. He wanted to be reassuring and affirmed, again, that this was only a maximum deadline. "Technicians are mobilized", affirmed the operator.

This incident impacts Bouygues Telecom mobile service customers located mainly in Millau (12100) and the A75. < em>A team is currently mobilized to quickly restore the situation."

Monday morning, this same service, then contacted to obtain more information on the reasons for this abnormally long outage, did not respond to our requests.

"Unfortunately, there is no alternative means that we can offer to provide access to the mobile network. For calls, landlines should be preferred. In the event of an emergency, 112 can still be reached with a mobile phone , the communications department indicated Monday morning. To be continued…
