In Nîmes, the Casino#hyperFrais supermarket in Cap Costières could be taken over by the Auchan group

Selon le média spécialisé LSA, la grande surface nîmoise fait partie des 313 magasins Casino à vendre.

A new brand, and not the least, could appear at the Cap Costières shopping center, with the announced arrival of the Auchan group in place of the Casino# supermarket hyperFresh.

This is what the specialized media LSA revealed this Monday, January 22, which discusses the exclusive negotiations between Casino, Intermarché and Auchan to take over 313 hypermarkets and supermarkets. A first list of stores has been published and the site located in Cap Costières is one of them. 

Disposal discussed in 2019

This is not the first time that we have mentioned the arrival of Auchan at Place de Casino in Nîmes. Indeed, Midi Libre had already published an article on May 4, 2019 on this possibility. Casino management denied any list of hypermarkets and supermarkets to be sold at the time.

But a sentence, almost premonitory, was uttered by the representative of the UNSA within what was then called the Géant Casino: "That makes years since I heard that Auchan was going to take over the site. Maybe, one day, it will happen!" We've never been this close…
