In Sète, the company specializing in bicycles Flying Cat will integrate two regional experiments in train stations and high schools

L’entreprise sétoise spécialisée dans la vente de vélos à assistance électrique Fliyng Cat a gagné l’appel d’offres pour deux expérimentations dans les gares et des lycées d’Occitanie.

It is a Sète company which won the call for tenders from the Occitanie region concerning the long-term rental of electrically assisted bicycles. SARL Flying Cat in this case, specialist in the sale of electrically assisted bicycles, electric bicycles and scooters and member of the Vélo Vallée regional cluster. The latter will provide the vehicles as part of two joint experiments. These concern the acquisition of a fleet of mixed bicycles (muscular and electrically assisted) which will be offered for rental in the region's stations, and another acquisition, only of electric bicycles, to destination of certain high schools in Occitanie (the Lucie-Aubrac high school in Sommières, the Jean-Jaurès high school in Saint-Clément-de-Rivière, the Claude-Nougaro high school in Caussade – Monteils, the Pyrène high school in Pamiers, the Malvy high school in Cazères and the Pyrène high school in Pamiers).

A plan worth 100 million euros

These new experiments are part of the second act of the cycling plan put in place by the Region and presented at a press conference by Regional Advisor Sébastien Denaja this Monday, June 10. "This measure in favor of carbon-free mobility supports the free public transport system for young people in the region. These are concrete measures that are directly useful to our fellow citizenss". In total, 100 million euros should be invested in cycling by 2028.
