In the absence of a golf course, Saint-Hilaire inherits the town's recycling center

Once the permit has been granted, work on the new Alès Agglo recycling center will be able to start.

Located in the middle of a commercial area, opposite Cora, the Mas d’Hours recycling center, managed by Alès Agglo, has become an anomaly in the landscape. Problem, not many people have come forward since 2018 to recover the installations.

After several years of negotiations between the Agglo and Saint-Hilaire-de-Brethmas, a solution has finally been found. The transfer was valued at €700,000. This bill was to be offset by the sale of the land.

"It’s less sexy than a performance hall, concedes Jean-Michel Perret, the mayor of Saint-Hilaire-de-Brethmas, but it’s just as useful to the population."

Opposite the IT and network management company Perfectys, a plot of a little less than one hectare, neighboring the Ruegger auto scrapyard, will soon to welcome the future recycling center.

This summer, the project, as designed, was approved. "The various administration services have validated everything. Which is never obvious, nor easy because the regulations are so complex. The building permit is signed, and I note that we have had no recourse."

To ensure the safety of users, a roundabout is planned on the old road to Nîmes.
"The recycling center will be built at the end of the plot. This is a new type of installation, no longer with skips and anti-fall barriers, but with lockers like those found in materials merchants. We will put everything on the ground. An agent will push everything before loading. The Cora recycling center was no longer suitable, no need to run to Salindres, or to Saint-Césaire-de-Gauzignan to deposit the waste. So yes, we have good feedback from the population."

The 14 ha of land dedicated to golf are still unoccupied, and no concrete agricultural project is envisaged

The golf à Saint-Hilaire-de-Brethmas is definitively buried. What remains is the 14 ha of land that Alès Agglo had acquired as part of this early project. in 2004 and the municipality boughté &agrav; its turn with the agglomeration after the signing of a standardization agreement in 2021.

Even if Jean-Michel Perret has several avenues to develop these plots (agri-voltaic farm, sludge treatment unit from ;purification for the manufacture of gas), the fact remains that’à To this day, the land is still empty of any project, including agricultural. "I know that with the “y’a that’à we have to’we” It’s easy, but finding farmers who agree to work 16 hours a day for 800 euros is not so simple. You really have to have faith to embark on these projects."
