There were twenty-one artisans participating in the competition for the best galette which took place at the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Gard… This Thursday, October 3, it was time for the awards ceremony, the bakers' federation awarded a check for fifty euros to the first three selected.

While the Belle Gardoise sector is making itself desired, the best galette is keeping us waiting. Alexandre Boudry, the big winner of the competition, has in reality not really won. "There is a catch this year…" confirmed the president of the Gard Federation of Artisan Bakers at the awards ceremony. Alexandre is "only" a pastry chef and therefore cannot be selected among the master artisan bakers to access the regional… A godsend for the second-place finisher, Nicolas Bouzanquet, who will qualify for the next competition.

In the eyes of the judges, Alexandre "remains the big winner and jury favorite" and will have the honor of providing the galette to the prefecture…
