Increase in traffic on Montpellier's cycle paths: find out which street broke all records in September

Year after year, the number of cyclists continues to increase in Montpellier. The bicycle counters recorded several attendance records during the back-to-school week, compared to the same period in 2023. That is an increase of 8 to 20%!

The average counter, the Albert-1er totem, installed since March 2020, reached its historic record on September 10, with 3,133 bicycles. The Renouvier counters (963 and 684 bikes), as well as that of Pompignane 2 (605) also set new absolute records.

Figuerolles leads the race in September

On September 10, the counter on Rue du Faubourg-Figuerolles beat its 2024 record with 2,960 bikes. Eight units short of the absolute record. This axis was the most used in the metropolis in September, with 36,805 bicycles, ahead of that of Albert 1er (35,811).

The Allée de la Méditerranée, on the banks of the Lez (34,827), retains the absolute record for one day in Montpellier: 3,406 bicycles on October 8, 2023. A record on hold…
