In an NBC interview this Monday, July 15, 2024, Joe Biden explained mobilizing Americans to focus on Donald Trump and his actions and lies.

He admitted to having made a "mistake". This Monday, American President Joe Biden spoke about his rival for the next elections which will take place next November.

"It's time to target Trump", declared Joe Biden during a call with donors on July 8. A formula that has been widely criticized since the assassination attempt against Donald Trump on Saturday. "It’was a mistake to use that word", Joe Biden said Monday in an interview with NBC. "I meant, focus on him, on what he does, on his measurements, the number of lies he told during the debate", he added.

Poorly positioned against its competitor

While Donald Trump seems to be in a strong position to be elected again, Biden called for calming the political climate and spoke about his position: "How do you talk about the threat to our democracy, which is real, when a president says things like he says ? You just don't say anything just because it might incite someone&rsquo ;a ?"

Faced with the panic running through his camp, Joe Biden nevertheless admitted to understanding the voters' hesitations. "I understand why people say: 'My God, he's 81 years old. What will he be like when he is 83, 84 ?' It’s a legitimate question to ask", he acknowledged. The next few weeks promise to be decisive for the future of the American country.
