Jousts: two tournaments and a hat-trick for Mézois Mickaël Wolff, League champion

A well-deserved hat-trick for the Mézois. MIDI LIBRE – Jérôme Belluire

The Mézois won both tournaments of the weekend (JLG and LSS), thus ending the suspense with panache. For the third consecutive year, he won the League title.

He still needed a few points to make his League champion title official ? No problem. Mickaël Wolff collected forty in two days, this weekend between the Grau-du-Roi tournament and the Lance Sportive Sétoise tournament.

The suspense didn't last

This Sunday, in the Cadre Royal, he could have been satisfied with being crowned, officially champion of the League with his qualification for the rematches while his runner-up did not pass the stage of the qualifiers. But the Mézois went through with his idea. It's still much better to celebrate a title by being the last one on the floor at the end of the day.

The final. MIDI LIBRE – Jérôme Belluire

Just before the rematches, he had to push aside his fellow member Guillaume Reyes, last in the boat and previously the winner of Brice Giordano, the first qualifier of the day. Of the eight qualifiers, only seven remained to compete in the rematches. Yoan Jammes, as well as the entire audience, could appreciate the great sportsmanship of Jonathan Challier, who could have continued but chose to lay down his arms after taking his opponent out. Jean-Louis Montels then got rid of Anthony Bondon, then Olivier Rojas and Stéphane Gras had to resign themselves to sharing the fourth prize.

A spectacular final

There were only three men left. And the only semi-final of the day will not leave an unforgettable memory for Yoan Jammes, not really satisfied with the progress of the pass. Finally, the last duel would therefore oppose two of the three jousters who have won more than one tournament this season. There is a kind of logic.

And Mickaël Wolff and Jean-Louis Montels were not going to pretend. The two strong guys were colliding like freight trains, so much so that it could not last more than one pass. Wolff having touched the water last, he could therefore celebrate his fifth victory of the season and, of course, a well-deserved champion title!
