Kéolis Méditerranée: the bus drivers’ strike hardens

Les discussions sont dans l’impasse entre la direction de Kéolis Méditerranée et le syndicat Unsa au sujet des revendications salariales. La grève pourrait durer toute la semaine.

The strike continues at Kéolis Méditerranée within the Agde, Sète and Frontignan depots. Started this Monday, June 10, on a slogan launched by the majority Unsa, it continues to mobilize bus drivers from the school and urban networks of these cities. A walkout is organized between 7 a.m. and 7:55 a.m. and is rather well attended. A meeting took place this Tuesday, June 11, between management and the union to examine the sticking points, which are the increase in salary levels indexed to inflation and better management of the company mutual insurance.

Discussions stalled with management

"The management remains deaf to our requests, so the slogan continues", indicates Cédric Goyer, general delegate of Unsa. With 85% of strikers in Sète (around ten urban lines operated as subcontractors by Kéolis Méditerranée) and 63% in Frontignan (94% of strikers in Agde), the lines in the north of Bassin de Thau towards Sète and Frontignan and LiO Hérault Transport school bus, will remain disrupted in the morning this Wednesday June 12 and probably the rest of the week.

The Unsa union representative indicated this Tuesday that he had contacted the labor inspectorate for "small complications which taken together hinder the right to strike&quot ;. He mentions threats of sanctions because of the banners hung by the strikers on the buses or even the "modifications of duty sheets which do not correspond to the walkout time actually carried out by the strikers by example. Or perhaps management had not sent us all the names of the striking employees." Striking drivers should now wear bibs in the union colors.
