Legislative elections 2024: The Republicans of Hérault invest… two candidates

Sur neuf circonscriptions, Eric Chaveroche et Sandra Houée seront les deux seuls candidats des Républicains dans le département, qui soutient aussi Jocelyne Gizardin sur la 7e.

Times are tough for Les Républicains. In Hérault, the party has only invested two candidates: Éric Chaveroche in the first constituency and Sandra Houée in the second. He also announced his support for Jocelyne Gizardin in the seventh.

“I could have written a book”

“We lost a lot of potential candidates this week, emphasizes Arnaud Julien, departmental head of the LR. There was the dissolution, Ciotti who is getting closer to the extreme right and the results at less than 5%. A campaign costs 5000 to 6000 €. It made people back down." Arnaud Julien says ironically : "This week, I could have written a book. We are presenting two candidates, but just for that, we should get a medal."

"Nothing to do with the RN"

He specifies, however, in relation to the announcement of the National Rally which had indicated that it supported the LR candidates in the 1st and 9th constituencies of Hérault: "That has nothing to do with us. They will support Éric Ciotti's candidates. Ours were appointed by the national investiture commission. Our candidates have nothing to do with the RN.”
