New evening of swimming at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games this Thursday, August 1st. After the new shower of medals the day before, the evening should be calmer today. Follow the events live with commentary.

Highlights of the evening 

8:37 p.m.: swimming, 200m backstroke final with Mewen Tomac 8:46 p.m. : swimming, 50m freestyle semi-finals with Florent Manaudou and Maxime Grousset 9:47 p.m. : swimming, 200m medley semi-finals with Léon Marchand 9:39 p.m.

200m medley (M). Marchand's return

The Frenchman Léon Marchand will compete in his last individual event with the 200m medley. He will obviously aim to qualify for the final.

200m backstroke (F). The second semi-final too fast

The two French women Emma Terebo and Pauline Mahieu finish with the 9th and 11th times of the semi-finals, it doesn't work out this time.

Great race by Frenchman Maxime Grousset who finished 3rd in his semi-final behind Jordan Crooks and Caleb Dressel. This should go through for the Frenchman, fingers crossed…

Frenchman Mewen Tomac comes very close to the medal and finishes 4th. Hungarian Hubert Kus wins the race ahead of Greek Apostolos Christou and Swiss Roman Mityukov. Very nice race from the Frenchman!
