Lottery Winner: Man Buys House, Wins Jackpot The Next Day

A North Carolina resident in the United States won nearly $450,000 by betting just one. The day before, he had just bought a house.

On Thursday, August 15, 2024, Benny Murphy, a man from North Carolina in the United States, won the sum of $439,527, or about €395,000.

He bought a house the day before

United Press International revealed that the American had won this draw the very day after buying a house. “I’ bought a house on Wednesday," he rejoiced to the North Carolina Education Lottery.

He won the Cash 5 drawing with a $1 bill. “Cash 5 is one of six lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option to purchase their tickets at a retail location or online through the lottery website or with the official mobile app,” the state lottery explains.

The winner said the winnings would help him finish paying off his house, take trips and save.
