The 3rd edition of the Apprenticeship and Career Discovery Fair took place this Friday, March 28, in the corridors and on the square in front of the arenas.

It’is already a big foothold in the professional world that the hundreds of young people who came this Friday to the 3rd day of Apprenticeship and discovery of professions. Wanted by the City in partnership with France Travail and the local youth mission Petite Camargue Héraultaise, the event took place on the square and passageways of the arenas.

Jobs by the dozen

It brought together nearly thirty stands presenting various professional sectors and nearly forty apprentice training centers. A show which greatly benefited from new technologies and allowed young people to “touch” trades. This was the case for the world of industry. It was, for example, possible to virtually learn how to perform a delicate weld. Those who moved into the personal assistance sector were able to benefit from simulators that reproduce certain disabilities linked to aging (osteoarthritis, degenerative eye diseases…).

A largely positive outcome

The young people were also able to learn how to operate, always virtually, a mechanical excavator or take the place of a bus driver. To the point of arousing vocations ? This is likely if we are to believe the mostly positive reactions of the young people who participated in the day. The only disappointment for those young people who thought they would be able to meet companies likely to recruit apprentices, in commerce or telephony. In vain. This is perhaps a subject for reflection for the 4th edition…
