Last evening this Friday for the team who worked on the future of the building for 33 months.

The curtain of architectural permanence was drawn this Friday evening, on the square in front of the Old Station. But far from being a somber farewell ceremony, it is with a warm farewell that the team which, since September 2021, has been striving to set a new course to the SNCF real estate ship hitherto stranded at the end of avenue Victor-Hugo, wished to bow out.

A team and 33 months of varied tests

Mathilde Tournyol du Clos and the entire team of young architects who made the office work alongside her (namely, Tom CRETIN, Darius Tardy, Antoine Chanteau, Ilana Pollak, Damien Cotonea, Camille Schindler, Prune Granchamp, Mehdi Ait Omarobihi, and Gabriel Vivien) had therefore invited partners and friends to a Spanish inn version banquet with music and good humor.
There was therefore no question of farewell during this evening, especially since after these 33 months, somewhat disrupted by administrative burdens, everything now seems in place so that the Ancient station can experience a new spring.

An association and a real estate company for the future

Thus, an association, the Old Station, was created. It brings together in a collegial manner local authorities (Lunel Agglo and Lunel), associations, individuals and companies (SNCF…), around areas of development expected by the territory : l’ reception, training, culture and mobility. Themes which should constitute the backbone of future activities at the Old Station. This association is now linked by an agreement on objectives and provision of the building and the square with the City, the Agglo and the SNCF. It is therefore required to ensure the management and animation of the Old Station and its square, ultimately, it takes over the architectural permanence. Furthermore, the land company Bellevilles is also interested in the project. This potential investor is now putting his engineering to work for the Old Station to structure the economic and legal model for the building to function.
