Man sets himself on fire to protest Israeli strikes at pro-Palestinian rally in US

The man was rescued by passersby and police officers.

This Saturday in Washington, a man set himself on fire during a pro-Palestinian demonstration protesting Israeli strikes. He was rescued by passersby and police officers. 

As more than a thousand protesters were protesting Israeli strikes in the streets of Washington this Saturday, a man claiming to be a journalist set himself on fire.

The man approached the group of protesters amidst Palestinian and Lebanese flags, set himself on fire and his left arm was ignited. 

His gesture could have been much more dramatic for him if it had not been for the intervention of passers-by and police officers who put out the fire with water and keffiyehs.

The police said his life was not in danger.
