As of this Wednesday, May 15, the amount of the patient's flat rate contribution for each medical consultation, radiology and biology examination increases from 1 to 2 euros. This increase will not be visible during the consultation but at the time of reimbursement by Health Insurance.

Consulting your doctor will cost you a little more. From this Wednesday, May 15, the amount of medical deductibles will double, the remainder payable by the insured therefore increases from 1 to 2 euros .

This increase applies in the context of a consultation or an act carried out by a doctor, whether general practitioner or specialist, as well as for examinations radiological or biological analyses.

On the other hand, it does not apply to procedures performed by a midwife, a dental surgeon or even a medical assistant. It also does not concern beneficiaries of Supplementary Solidarity Health, state medical aid or women who have been pregnant for more than 6 months or who gave birth less than twelve days ago.

What is changing concretely?

Concretely, this means that for a consultation at 26.50 euros with your general practitioner, your theoretical reimbursement by Health Insurance is 70%, or 18.55 euros.

With the fixed contribution of two euros, you will not be reimbursed for this exact amount by Health Insurance, but for this amount minus two euros, or 16.55 euros. With the fixed contribution of one euro, you were reimbursed 17.55 euros.

The increase will therefore not be visible at the time of the consultation, but during your reimbursement by Health Insurance.

400 000 euros savings

So that the people with the greatest need for care are not penalized, the annual ceiling, protective for the insured, remains unchanged: its amount is 50 euros .

This doubling of the medical exemption comes a few weeks after previous increases which concerned the medical exemptions for medicines and medical transport on March 31.

This measure, which is part of the government's desire to make those with social insurance pay more to replenish Social Security accounts, should allow savings of around 400%. nbsp;000 euros per year.
