Students to fight against medical deserts

#MENDE. The town of Mende will host a university branch of the Montpellier Faculty of Medicine from the start of the school year in September. Jonathan Dubois, who is developing an alcohol-free beer with energizing properties, received advice on the packaging of the product, which was inadequate according to the jury.

#CANAL DU MIDI. This is, in euros, the amount collected in 2023 by the sponsorship mission of Voie navigables de France (VNF) to finance the tree replanting program along the Canal du Midi. The 3,731 donors will thus make it possible to plant 1,350 new tree species, install nest boxes and thus fight against the spread of colored canker which has led, in ten years, to the felling of 31,500 trees. So far, 18,000 have been replanted, or 65 km of restored banks.

Ski: resorts open slopes

#LOZERE/GARD.  After the Nordic area, with cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, it is now the alpine area of ​​Bleymard-Mont-Lozère which can accommodate skiers. This Monday, March 4, the station announced its full opening every day of the week. The Nordic area at the Col de Finiels is also open with superb snow cover.  The Nordic trails at the Mas de la Barque and Baraque des Bouviers resorts are also open.

Snowfall, up to 50 cm thick, makes it possible to envisage the opening of the slopes of the Alti Aigoual station in the Gard. It will open, from this Wednesday March 6, and the following weekend at least, its alpine (red, blue) and cross-country ski slopes. Please note that at the start of the week, traffic remains difficult for access to the Alti Aigoual station, on the RD 986 (upper part up to L'Espérou RD48N) as well as on the RD 151 Esperou-Dourbie.

Mountain bike champion and boss
