Mende-Paris in three and a half hours, it’s possible, by bus and plane, via Rodez

The Loudes-Le Puy shuttle is suspended until August 31. An alternative was found on the Aveyron side, with a Mende-Rodez-Paris Orly offer, starting this Wednesday April 17, 2024.

As of this Wednesday, April 17, 2024, we will no longer be able to reach Paris from Mende via Loudes, 10 km from Puy-en-Velay, to take the plane, with ;nbsp;the Hugon Tourisme coach shuttle. In question, the denunciation, by the air transport company Twin Jet, of the public service delegation contract which linked it to the agglomeration community of Puy-en-Velay. The company justifies this decision by a profitability problem. This situation is expected to last until the end of August. "I have no doubt that Laurent Wauquiez will find a solution for the connection to resume", believes Laurent Suau, the mayor of Mende.< /p>

L’round trip during the day

In the meantime, there is no question of abandoning this connection, resorting to the plane being the only way to make a return trip to Paris during the day. A service popular with business leaders and elected officials in particular, who represent the majority of air shuttle users. "As soon as we learned that the Le Puy-Paris connection was interrupted for several months, we contacted the municipality to find a solution", explains Dominique Lavaure, for Hugon Tourisme. The company is in fact linked by a public service delegation with the municipality of Mende, to provide the road shuttle which links it with the Haute-Loire airport.

From April 17 to August 31, 2024, head to Aveyron, for a Mende-Rodez-Paris Orly connection, operated by the Amelia company. A fairly natural decision according to Dominique Lavaure, since the journey is equivalent, around an hour and a half without stops. "And we can arrive fifteen minutes to twenty minutes before the flight, no need to arrive an hour before, this is recorded&quot ;, specifies the carrier.

Stops at the request of Mende in Banassac

As was already the case for Le Puy, the bus will be able to stop on demand along its route, in the Lozerian part. "We have requests for Banassac, La Canourgue, Chanac or even Barjac", summarizes Dominique Lavaure.

And participate up to 45 € the round trip for the road shuttle, whereas it was previously free for the user, the deficit being covered by the Aura and Occitanie Regions. The possible deficit will this time be filled by the additional transport budget of the City of Mende. "It’is a good compromise for us who are already suffering from the lack of trains", insists Laurent Suau, convinced that this daily connection contributes to the attractiveness of the territory.
