#MeToo at the hospital: the accusations against Pelloux are “credible” considers Roselyne Bachelot who exfiltrated the emergency doctor in 2008

While Patrick Pelloux is accused by his infectious disease colleague Karine Lacombe of sexual and moral harassment, former Minister of Health Roselyne Bachelot returns to the reasons which pushed her to remove the emergency doctor from the emergency room of Saint-Antoine in 2008.

At the microphone of France Inter this Sunday, April 14, the former Minister of Health, Roselyne Bachelot, reacted to the accusations made by infectious disease specialist Karine Lacombe against Patrick Pelloux, whom she considers to be "obviously credible".

Head of the hospital department of infectious diseases at Saint-Antoine hospital in Paris, Karine Lacombe described the emergency media in the columns of Paris Match as a "predator" whom she accuses of sexual and moral harassment, including inappropriate gestures and remarks.

Exfiltrated for moral harassment

"She did not make these accusations lightly", estimates Roselyne Bachelot. While Minister of Health in 2008, she had to "exfiltrate" Patrick Pelloux from the emergency room of Saint-Antoine hospital, after multiple complaints from nurses and nursing assistants of moral harassment.

Virked at not having obtained management of the Emergency department at Saint-Antoine hospital, the emergency physician would have become unbearable, according to the former minister. The director of Saint-Antoine Hospital was even afraid that he would commit suicide, remembers Roselyne Bachelot, who nevertheless claims to have never been made aware of acts of sexual harassment.

"The Saint-Antoine agents may have hesitated in 2008 to make accusations of this type, but at that time I did not have any complaints of this type that came back to me, and which ;rsquo;would have led" to make a report to Justice, specifies the former Minister of Health, emphasizing however that &amp ;quot;Sexual violence is customary in hospitals, and very often, moral harassment leads to sexual harassment.

"Far from having exemplary behavior with the fairer sex"

Another former Minister of Health, Agnès Buzyn, also claims to have been informed because "Pelloux was far from having a&nbsp ;exemplary behavior with the fairer sex, and confirms his exfiltration from the Saint-Antoine emergency room to the Necker hospital in 2008 for this reason.

If he recognizes "said" behavior, the emergency doctor denies the whole thing of the facts with which he is accused. "What we said and what we did is undoable today, that's for sure. But we had a good laugh", he said in the columns of Paris Match, before specifying that it was going to be " forced to file a lawsuit" to Karine Lacombe.

Since Karine Lacombe's accusations, tongues have been loosened in the hospital environment and testimonies from victims of sexual assault have multiplied.
