L'ancien arrière-vedette de l'Ecosse Stuart Hogg, censé arriver à Montpellier cet été pour deux saisons, était devant le tribunal pour des faits de violences conjugales ce mercredi 3 juillet.

Charged this Tuesday for violating the conditions of his bail, Stuart Hogg was in court in Jedburg (Scotland) this Wednesday. The former Scottish rugby star (100 caps), recruited by the MHR this summer, pleaded guilty to domestic violence against his ex-wife, Gillian. The decision on his judgment is postponed until the end of the month, explains the Daily Record.

Arrested in front of his ex-wife's home

As a reminder, on February 25, the best player of the 2016 and 2017 6 Nations Tournament was arrested by the police in front of his ex-wife's home. Father of four is accused of engaging in threatening and abusive behavior.

Stuart Hogg retired from sports a year ago, at 31 years old. But the MHR, through sports director Bernard Laporte, convinced him to take on one last challenge. "He signed for 2 years and one as an option, this is not a surprise", confirmed President Mohed Altrad on June 18.

His signing fueled the controversy surrounding Montpellier, which recruited a third player tried for cases of domestic violence after Wilfrid Hounkpatin and Mohamed Haouas.
