Minehunters from the Olives Noires exercise are stopping in the port of Sète

Plusieurs navires de guerre de diverses nations participent au large de Sète à l’exercice OIives Noires de la Marine nationale.

It's a little stopover in Sète for the navy until Wednesday in the port of Sète. The new basin indeed accommodates several mine hunters – including Capricorn who was present at the festival of maritime traditions – participating in the exercise Black Olives off.

13 buildings engaged

This international session, organized every two years by the French Navy, brings together, according to the Ministry of the Armed Forces, "700 sailors, 13 vessels, 60 clearance divers and latest generation capabilities such as underwater drones. The objective is to develop the capacity of allied navies to operate together in the fight against mines, under French command, while integrating new drone capabilities into traditional means".

Departure this Wednesday evening

The warships will leave Sète from Wednesday evening. For the record, they were decked out this Tuesday on the occasion of Turkey's birthday, some ships of which are participating in this operation.
