Montpellier-Metz match: Montpellier ultras try to attack the bus of Metz supporters

Ce dimanche 18 février, une cinquantaine d'ultras montpelliérain ont tenté de prendre à partie le bus des supporters de Metz, lors de son arrivée à la Mosson. La police a dû faire usage de gaz lacrymogène. Deux personnes ont été interpellées.   

Tensions broke out this Sunday, February 18 near the Mosson stadium, in Montpellier, before the football match between the MHSC and Metz. A group of ultras from Montpellier tried to attack the bus which was transporting the Metz supporters when it arrived near the venue of the meeting. 

About fifty hooded people

At the Mosson tram station, around fifty people dressed in black and hidden under balaclavas approached the bus, which had been escorted on its route.

The police had to intervene to intervene and used tear gas to disperse the troublemakers. Manpower from the intervention company and CRS were deployed. Two people were arrested. The vehicle of the Metz supporters, for its part, did not suffer any damage.

Repeated attempts at aggression

The National Division for Combating Hooliganism (DNLH) had not classified this meeting as presenting a high risk of violence. The police, however, observe that attempted attacks on the part of Montpellier ultras tend to become more widespread, regardless of the opposing team. ;nbsp;
