Montpellier resident Clémence Gualy has achieved her feat: she swam for six hours non-stop against cardiomyopathy

Tout un symbole pour la jeune femme. C. G.

La jeune femme de 29 ans a remporté son défi ce samedi 28 septembre à la piscine olympique de Montpellier en parcourant la distance de 16,8 km pendant six heures.

She set herself a somewhat crazy challenge and she succeeded: Clémence Gualy swam for six hours non-stop to raise awareness about her illness, cardiomyopathy.

The 29-year-old from Montpellier, who has always fought against her illness, wanted to show that she was capable of surpassing herself by inviting everyone to come this Saturday, September 28, to the Montpellier Olympic swimming pool to undertake a small “marathon” swimming.

A real performance and the participation of more than 200 swimmers

Her event entitled La nage du cœur, which was intended to be friendly and sporty, was a success: she managed to swim for six hours non-stop and thus covered no less than 16.8 km.

And more than 200 swimmers took part in this extraordinary meeting

By achieving this performance, the ambassador for people with cardiomyopathy alongside the Languedoc-Roussillon Cardiology Association has proven that she was stronger than the disease.

She was also able, through this event, to raise awareness among the general public about this disease and raise funds for research.
