When she was a baby, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Wales, now 9 years old, received a completely crazy gift for ordinary people.

On the occasion of his appearance with his parents last weekend for "Trooping the color", the “Salute to the colors” in London, the British press returns to an astonishing anecdote concerning Charlotte, the daughter of Kate and William.

42,000 euros per rattle

As reported 7 of 7, when she was a baby, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Wales now aged 9 received a completely crazy gift for ordinary mortals: a rattle worth 42,000 euros! Crafted with 18k white gold and covered in precious coins – diamonds, sapphires, rubies… – the toy, if such an object can still be called that, was donated by the Natural Sapphire Company, a British company specializing in the sale of natural sapphires using stones from ethical and responsible sources.

“We wanted to do something exceptional for Princess Charlotte, explained the company in 2015, cited by our colleagues. When Kate got engaged with Diana's beautiful sapphire ring, our sapphire sales exploded. We wanted to thank the royal family for this. So we are very happy to be able to give something back to his daughter.”

She didn’not benefit much…

The fact remains that the young princess was not able to enjoy her splendid toy. Maybe she didn’t even touch it. As per protocol, underlines Soir Mag, the gift was returned to Natural Sapphire Company.

Kate Middleton participated on Saturday June 15 in "Trooping the color" in London. It was his first public appearance since announcing his cancer on March 22, after months of erratic communication.

“Dressed in a long white coat and wearing a hat, the Princess of Wales, 42, appeared smiling and greeting the public who came en masse , from the carriage taking her with her three children – George, Charlotte and Louis – from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade where the ceremony is held, reported AFP. She then got off the carriage, to follow the rest of the ceremony.”
