Pour le début de la phase retour, à l'occasion de cette 18e journée de National, Nîmes a pris le dessus sur Rouen (2-0) au stade des Antonins, ce vendredi 26 janvier.

Nine days ago, Nîmes resumed the National championship as it had ended last year, with a defeat, bringing to 6 the number of consecutive losses for the Crocos. A situation which at the end of the first leg puts the Gardois in a relegation position in National 2, a division that the club has never known.

Operation survival therefore begins this Friday, January 26 and the first stage is successful. Victory in two stages over a timid Rouen team.

After a poor first period, the match was interrupted by the irruption of farmers into the stadium stands at half-time. From the restart, the Nîmes were enterprising and quickly opened the scoring through Mbemba (47th) before Sbai doubled the lead two minutes later (50th). The Crocos then held the ball and were barely put in difficulty by the too harmless Rouennais.

Frédéic Bompard's players remain 15th but come back to two points from the first non-relegation place. They also breathe new life into the group and maintain this operation.

A match to relive here:
