On the sidelines of the All-Star Game scheduled for Sunday, the NBA organized a mini-tournament on Friday with four teams made up of its young talents, with "rookies" (beginners), like the French Victor Wembanyama and Bilal Coulibaly, "sophomores" (2nd year) and G-League players (NBA development championship).
11 points and 5 lost balls
Wembanyama and Coulibaly, teammates last year at the Levallois Mets, had the pleasure of finding themselves in the "Pau" team, coached by the & ;#39;former Spanish player Pau Gasol. But this event, although without any issues, turned into a small humiliation for the two French people, eliminated in the semi-final by the team made up of G-League players (41 to 36).
Wembanyama, the main attraction of the tournament, was particularly clumsy. Wanting to put on a show, he attempted several complicated moves and lost 5 balls in 11 minutes which weighed down his team, of which he was still the top scorer (11 points).
The 20-year-old Frenchman will have the opportunity to catch up on Saturday as he takes part in the "Skills challenge", a skill competition, in company of established stars like Trae Young and Anthony Edwards.
