Nearly two hundred children crossed the finish line of the legendary Marvejols-Mende half-marathon, this Sunday, July 21, 2024, before the 2,000 participants set off , for their part, from Marvejols for 22.4 kilometers. It was under the famous red inflatable arch that the young runners finished the race dedicated to them.

"The objective : run all the way"

Some ran alone, others did it with friends or family. This is the case of Margot and Zélie, twin sisters aged 13, regulars of this race for children. "Our grandmother lives nearby. We have come specially from Gard, for several years, to participate in the Marvejols-Mende", they smile. It was with pride that they arrived first of the little girls, together!

For their part, Hugo, 11 years old, and Timothée, 8 years old, came with friends. "It’was good. It’s a little challenge. My goal was to run the whole way, explains Hugo, who is taking part in the children's course for the second time.

For Timothée, it’s a family story. His father and sister are participating in the big race. "I run for fun", he says, having arrived first in the chick category.
