New Prime Minister: this strong decision taken by Lucie Castets who continues to seek Matignon

The candidate of the New Popular Front for Matignon, Lucie Castets, announced Thursday that she will “put an end to (his) functions” at the Paris City Hall, in order to continue to embody the alliance of left-wing parties, by which she “still feels supported”.

“I am going to end my duties as Director of Finance for the City of Paris”, declared Ms. Castets on BFMTV and RMC, specifying that she “will not resign from public service” but that she “plans to (to) make oneself available”.

Decision imposed by the imminent end of her summer vacation, during which she was designated by the NFP and made numerous media appearances, which her status as a senior civil servant subject to the duty of reserve would no longer have allowed her to do as of next week.

Her opinion on Cazeneuve

Buoyed by the "strong hope that arose from the French vote" in the July legislative elections, she now intends to "put all (her) strength into preserving this union of the left" arriving in the lead but far from the absolute majority in the Assembly.

A situation which justified Emmanuel Macron's refusal to appoint her to Matignon at the beginning of the week. However, “I still feel supported by the four forces of the NFP”, she assured.

Including the Socialist Party, which is divided on the hypothesis of another personality from the left, such as former Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve.

“Of course there are different positions in the PS, it's healthy, it's the life of a party”, Ms. Castets put into perspective, stating having “no personal problems with Bernard Cazeneuve“, whom she “esteems” and whom she “respects“, while doubting that he is “able to carry out a policy other than that of the head of state.
