Nîmes Olympique: a half-baked assessment

Nîmes Olympique s’est maintenu en National au terme d’un exercice marqué par un manque de régularité et d’efficacité.

Half FIG half grape. Nîmes Olympique did not have a great season but succeeded in the essential, remaining in the National, division in which it will play, in 2024-2025, for the eleventh time in its history.

The Crocos, who had had a decent start to the year (3 wins, 7 draws, 1 loss), paid a high price and dragged out their series of six losses for a long time at the end of the first leg . Much more efficient in the return matches, they reversed the trend, notably managing to string together 4 victories in a row (only four other teams have achieved this).

The ranking of National

Overall, the Nîmes lacked consistency and regularity. They also cruelly sinned in finishing. Observations which are found in the figures.

44. This is the number of points collected by Nîmes, 16 during the outward phase (15th assessment), 28 during the return phase (3rd assessment).

24. This is the number of points abandoned to the Antonines where the Crocs will not have been sovereign  : 7 wins, 6 draws, 4 losses. With 27 points collected, they have the 10th record in the Championship at home.

36 goals scored only

36. This is the dark spot of the season. The Crocos only scored 36 goals (15th attack, 17 goals in the first period, 19 in the second). They remained silent on 8 occasions, including 6 outside.

13. This is the number of Crocos who found the net: with 8 goals (4 at home, 4 away), Mbina finished best goaleador (16th in the National). The other scorers: Mbemba (5+1), Picouleau (2+3), Mexico, Camara, Burner and Delpech (1+1), Doucouré and Sané (2+0), Mendy, Diouf and Sbaï (1+0) , Khalid (0+1).

1. Nîmes has only managed once, this season, to score more than two goals in the same meeting: against Sochaux on the 33rd day (4-2).

3.Diallo, Picouleau and Mbina each delivered three assists, the team's highest total. The other smugglers: Mbemba and Mexico (2), Burner, Thoumin, Diouf, Sbaï, Mendy and Laurens (1).

Picouleau, the most used

Mendy and Diouf the most knowledgeable

66.This is the number of yellow cards received. The most knowledgeable Crocs: Mendy and Diouf (8), Diallo (6), Sbaï and Picouleau (5), Guessoum, Doukansy, Labonne, Mbina, Sacko and Delpech (3). Nîmes only finished three matches without warning.

3. Diallo, Mendy and Labonne are the three Crocos who were expelled. Four Nîmes opponents received a red card.
