The Gard Departmental Council is continuing its operation this Sunday, August 18, by reserving access to the Col du Minier for cyclists and pedestrians only.

Carried out in partnership with the Sud-Cévennes tourist office, the 2nd edition of the “Reserved passes in Sud Cévennes” ends this Sunday, August 18.

Reserved lane between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m.

This initiative, which aims to promote cycling and showcase the South Cévennes region, is in line with the guidelines adopted by the Departmental Council for Mobility and Sport in 2023-2024. The route is open to all cycling enthusiasts, whether experienced or not, or even professionals.

For this Sunday and last meeting, after the Col du Lac or the Col de Lusette, head for the Col du Minier (RD48N), which will be closed to motorized vehicles between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. From Le Vigan, the distance covered will be approximately 22.60 km, with a height difference of 1,033 meters, the Col du Minier being at an altitude of 1,264 meters.

Access to Espérou will also be possible via Valleraugue (RD 986).
